Health factor calculator
Set up your collateral and debt to see the health factor, how far prices can drop before liquidation and how much more you can borrow. Liquidation thresholds and prices come straight from Aave v3 contracts.
How we calculate it
Health factor = the sum of each collateral in dollars times its liquidation threshold (LT), divided by the debt in dollars. Below 1, the position can be liquidated.
Each asset's LT, max LTV and price come from Aave v3's own PoolDataProvider and oracle on the selected chain, refreshed hourly.
Each collateral's liquidation price assumes the other prices stay flat. The drop to liquidation applies when all collateral falls together and the debt is in stablecoins.
Limitations
E-Mode and isolation mode are not modeled; they change the LT for some pairs. Accrued interest grows the debt over time and lowers the health factor.
This is a planning estimate. The value that counts for liquidation is the one shown in the Aave app.
Frequently asked questions
+What is the health factor?
It is the safety measure of a collateralized loan on protocols like Aave. Above 1 the position is safe; below 1, liquidators can sell part of your collateral to repay the debt.
+What health factor is safe?
There is no guaranteed number, since it depends on collateral volatility. Many users stay above 1.5 to 2 with volatile collateral. LPulse suggests an alert below 1.30.
+What is the difference between LTV and liquidation threshold?
Max LTV is how much you can borrow when opening the loan. The liquidation threshold (LT) is slightly higher and marks the point where the position can be liquidated.
+How do I raise my health factor?
Add collateral or repay part of the debt. Swapping volatile collateral for one with a higher LT also helps.
+Can I get an alert when my health factor drops?
Yes. In the LPulse Monitor, add your wallet address and set up the health factor alert.
